Who runs this site

This site is run by Thomas Van Durme, trading as Slow Run Fast, based in Belgium. If you have a question about your data or this policy, email hello@slowrunfast.com.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you type into the waitlist form. We use it for one purpose only: to email you when Strava, Whoop and Garmin sync launches (or, if you joined before accounts opened, to tell you that sign-up is open).

If you create an account, we store the data described under Accounts below.

We never sell your data and never share it with anyone except the processors named below, and only for the job each one does for us.

Accounts

When you create an account, we store:

• your email address and name, as you gave them when signing up;
• the user id that Clerk, our sign-in provider, gives your account;
• the fuel plans you save in the RaceFuel Planner: the inputs you entered and the plan we calculated.

We use this only to run your account: to sign you in, show you your saved plans and let you export them. Your password and sign-in details are handled by Clerk; we never see your password.

We keep this data until you delete your account. You can download a copy of everything we store about you with "Download my data" on your Account page, and delete it all with "Delete my account and data" on the same page. Deleting your account removes your account data and saved plans from our database straight away, and closes your sign-in account at Clerk. If you delete your account from the Clerk profile settings instead, the same deletion follows automatically. After deletion we keep only your Clerk user id and the date of deletion, so that a delayed message from Clerk or a request still in progress cannot recreate your account. That record contains no email, name or plans.

Calculator inputs

All calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into them are never sent to our server.

The Course Pace Planner is the one exception, and only for two things it does by design. The GPX course file you upload is parsed entirely in your browser and never leaves it. But if you click "Get forecast," the planner sends your course's rounded start coordinates and race date to Open-Meteo to fetch a weather forecast, and the course map on that page loads map tiles from CARTO, which sees the map area you're viewing (and your IP address, as any map tile request does). Neither of these happens until you open that calculator, and the forecast fetch only happens if you click the button.

Some calculators save the last values you enter in your browser's local storage, so they can prefill the same field the next time you open that calculator. This stays on your device: it is never sent to our server or anywhere else, and you can clear it at any time with the "Clear" link next to the prefilled result.

Some calculators let you share a result as a link. That link encodes your inputs in its URL, so they are only visible to whoever you choose to send that link to.

Processors

We use these outside services to run this site:

• Web3Forms receives the email address you submit on the waitlist form and delivers it to us by email.
• Vercel hosts this site and provides Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not record anything you type into a calculator.
• Clerk, a US company, handles sign-up and sign-in. It stores your email address, name, password or sign-in method, and session data. See their privacy policy.
• Render runs our API server in its Frankfurt, Germany (EU) region. It processes your account requests and saved fuel plans.
• Neon hosts our database in its Frankfurt, Germany (EU) region. Your account data and saved fuel plans are stored there.
• Open-Meteo receives the rounded start coordinates and date of a course when you click "Get forecast" on the Course Pace Planner, and returns a weather forecast. See their terms and privacy policy.
• CARTO serves the map tiles for the Course Pace Planner's course map, and sees the map area you view (and your IP address). See their privacy notice and basemap terms.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Account holders can download and delete their data themselves on the Account page. For anything else, including the waitlist, email hello@slowrunfast.com and we will act on it.

Cookies

This site does not set tracking cookies. If you sign in, Clerk sets the cookies needed to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary for your account to work and are not used for tracking.
